thanks :)

I have been experimenting with high dynamic range recently. Critique would be awesome!!

A few people wanted a more dramatic version of "Cologne .one" so I decided to make a series. This is the second part - no pano this time. Thanks for looking!! :)

Second part of my Cologne series

Update 05-31-09: Major de-noise job, cropping, color-adjustments - thanks for the input! What do you think of it now??

Great shot, but waay overdone on the water, it looks really fake, and the detail just starts to become noise farther away :hmm:
The sky is incredible, there is however a slight bit of noise there too (of which I would recommend Topaz Adjust to deal with)
That crane to the left of the church is really bugging me, that should be really easy to clone tool out.
Also you should consider cropping it, like ~kla91 said

Remember, sometimes less is more, and post processing is of no exception to this! Keep trying though, you'll eventually find that perfect middle between overprocessed and underprocessed that'll just make people go "Wow!" :)

To be honest, I think it's over-sharp, but it's a truly stunning image either eay!

Whoa, amazing. You have to teach me few things about HDR sooner or later ;) This image has an amazing atmosphere, I have to admit, and you are clearly very skilled with HDR. One thing that I would recommend, however, would be to crop a bit off the bottom. Yes we all know that you have a wide angle lens and have to show it off :P There are, however, other lenses in the world as well and using your beloved Sigma 10-20 might not always be the best solution ;) (Don't worry, it happens to everyone after buying a new lens, after I got my EF 50mm it felt like sacrilege to use a zoom lens) Isolate more of the main subject and less of the water is all I can say. This image could be more effective with only 40% or so of its area (the stuff in the middle) Don't forget, perfection is not achieved when there's nothing to be added but when there's nothing to be taken away ;) (forgot who said that)

Glad you like it, Lukas! And sure, I'm totally in love with the Sigma now - have to watch out that I don't get carried away with it :D I'm glad to explan my HDR-workflow for you if you want to. Just give me a shot when you need it :)

Thanks for another great critique!
